Winter Glow, a multi-attraction Christmas event based at Three Counties showground, Malvern have announced the details of their new immersive Light Trail for 2023, inspired by Homer’s epic poem ‘The Odyssey’ – with an added festive twist!
‘A Christmas Odyssey’ will launch on Friday 25th November, alongside Winter Glow’s four other festive attractions, and will run until Monday 2nd January 2023. The experience promises to transport visitors to a magical wonderland and take them on an adventure from the depths of ancient Atlantis to the fanciful shores of festive islands.
The adventure starts as visitor’s are introduced to Winter Glow’s Head Elf, Jingle, and invited to help him locate his five missing elves, who have gone astray in the run up to Christmas Day. Children will be set a selection of riddles and puzzles to help solve the mystery of the missing elves, while adults will have fun drawing comparisons between Homer’s original tale, and its festive counterpart. This interactive adventure trail is guaranteed to bring an element of festive fun to Malvern this winter!
The trail will showcase impressive structures, installations and illuminations that have been created especially for Winter Glow by a team of local artists, designers and craft-persons.
Winter Glow’s Head Designer Rose commented: ‘A Christmas Odyssey has been a fantastic collaborative project, combining the talent of many local creatives and storytellers to create this year’s Odyssey theme, to make it truly unique. This will be the most exciting Winter Glow Light Trail yet, and the first with a theme. The trail culminates in a fantastic Christmas scene, that all trailgoers will enjoy taking part in, and that is not to be missed. We have ensured that there is something for every age, to create the perfect festive experience for all of our visitors.’
Winter Glow have also confirmed that their ever-popular Dog-Friendly Light Trail sessions will be returning for 2022, and will be taking place on 13th and 28th December 2022, and 1st January 2023. These sessions will allow visitors to bring their furry friends along for the ‘A Christmas Odyssey’ adventure, and to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with their favourite family member, and capture those all-important Christmas selfies.
Along with the Dog-Friendly sessions, Winter Glow will also host a one-off Sensory-Friendly session on Monday 19th December at 4:15pm, enabling visitors with additional needs to explore ‘A Christmas Odyssey’ in a comfortable, quiet and non-threatening environment.
All visitors to the Light Trail can also enjoy free entry to Winter Glow’s brand-new Christmas Market, Food Quarter and Bavarian Bar for those who would like to replenish their energy levels after their festive adventure. There will also be Personalised Santa Experiences, festive ice skating, a 120ft Observation Wheel and fairground attractions for visitors to the event who want to immerse themselves in all things seasonal.
Winter Glow are currently offering visitors an Earlybird deal, with 10% off tickets for the ‘A Christmas Odyssey’ Light Trail, and Ice Skating when booked before Monday 31st October 2022.
